Contains an extract from a letter, 1837 June 12-1837 Sept. 4 from Rev. John Tait, possibly to Robert Johnston, describing his journey from Firth of Forth, Scotland to Sydney, N.S.W. in the ship North Briton. Rev. John Tait, a Presbyterian minister, emigrated to Australia in response to an appeal for clergy to assist the colonial Presbyterian Church. Also includes a letter, 1838 Apr. 6, Wallacetown to John Tait's brother from Robert Johnston.
